This Ardbeg cask is one that we are happy to release exclusively to our club member. The peaty aroma that comes from these barrels is intoxicating and the influence that they have had on the whisky is surprising and wonderful. The flavour of Islay peat is a story that is well told elsewhere, the fact that it can have such an influence via the barrels alone is a different chapter and this bottle tells it well!

Tasting Notes: 
The nose is full of well rounded peat, with hints of salty medicinal notes. There is a sweetness there too with a hint of peppery spice. On the palate the first sensation is of the mouthfeel, full and smooth, bringing a fruity sweetness with it. Smoky stewed peaches topped with strawberries. The finish is long too, allowing plenty of time to explore the flavours, salty tapenade, charred vegetables with smoked beef, a hint of creamy sweetness and a mature cheddar sharpness.
